Corey Dortch
Corey Dortch is a Strategic Advisor and Search Consultant at Loop Companies with more than 20 years of experience spanning executive search, leadership advisory, and higher education leadership. Since joining Loop in 2025, he has brought a relationship-driven, strategic perspective to executive searches, focusing on helping institutions identify leaders who fit both the role and the environment they will be entering.
His work centers on executive search within Higher Education, Global Nonprofits, and State Systems, primarily supporting university systems and leadership-level hiring. Corey is known for building trusted relationships, maintaining absolute discretion, and delivering outcomes that align with the needs of clients, candidates, and the organizations they serve. He is driven by the belief that the right leadership, aligned with the right environment, can transform institutions and the communities they serve.
Before joining Loop, Corey was Principal and Co-Founder of Hines Dortch Consulting, where he partnered with organizations on executive search and leadership advisory work focused on aligning talent, strategy, and culture. Prior to that, he served as an Executive Search Consultant at CarterBaldwin Executive Search, leading searches across the higher education and nonprofit sectors while also supporting business development and stakeholder engagement. Earlier in his career, he spent 19 years at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School as Associate Dean, where he led external engagement, alumni relations, and strategic partnerships, and contributed to fundraising, enrollment growth, curriculum innovation, and student marketplace readiness.
Corey holds advanced degrees from the University of Georgia, including a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education and a Master of Education, with academic work rooted in agricultural communications and higher education. His global experience across six continents and more than 40 countries informs his approach to engaging diverse stakeholders and evaluating leadership in complex environments. Outside of work, he enjoys travel, health and fitness, music, and live experiences.
